Why We Rank Self-Absorbed Celebrities
At SelfAbsorbed.com, we shine a satirical spotlight on the world’s most self-absorbed celebrities. Our mission? To rank and expose over-the-top ego in a way that entertains while staying fair and transparent. We’re here to call out blatant attention-seeking with receipts.
Our rankings aren’t about private lives or anonymous rumors. They’re about documented public behavior. We aim to give readers a clear view of how we decide who makes the cut and why.
How Our Ranking Works
We publish monthly rankings that feature 5 to 10 globally famous figures who have demonstrated notably self-absorbed behavior in that month.
Our basic principles:
- Focus on international or widespread media coverage.
- Only consider what’s publicly visible: interviews, social posts, news coverage, and public stunts.
- Prioritize quality over quantity; we’d rather rank 5 truly deserving egos than pad the list to 10.
The 5 Dimensions of Self-Absorption
Each celebrity is scored in five distinct categories, with each dimension rated from 0–3:
1. Exhibitionism
- Deliberate self-promotion and attention-seeking.
- Score 0 (none) to 3 (extreme).
- Example: Multiple viral stunts or relentless selfie campaigns.
2. Entitlement
- Demanding special treatment or complaining when denied it.
- Score 0 (none) to 3 (extreme).
- Example: Public meltdown over VIP access.
3. Superiority
- Direct claims of being uniquely better, special, or irreplaceable.
- Score 0 (none) to 3 (extreme).
- Example: “I’m the only one who can fix this.”
4. Authority Claims
- Positioning themselves as essential leaders or moral arbiters.
- Score 0 (none) to 3 (extreme).
- Example: Self-declared guru or savior.
5. Exploitative Behavior
- Manipulative or self-serving use of others or issues for personal gain.
- Score 0 (none) to 3 (extreme).
- Example: Using social causes for PR without genuine support.
Scoring Rules: Evidence Over Gossip
We take a “Critical Evidence” approach:
Acceptable evidence:
- Celebrity’s own words (social media, interviews, speeches)
- Public actions (videos, images, brand campaigns)
- Legitimate news coverage
Not accepted:
- Anonymous gossip
- Partisan framing without direct quotes or evidence
- Interpretations without receipts
We want readers to see exactly why someone scored high.
Monthly Leaderboard and Year-End Title
Each month, we total up the 5 category scores (max 15 points) and publish a transparent table of results. At the end of the year, we average each celebrity’s monthly scores to crown our Self-Absorbed Person of the Year.
Our Promise of Fair Satire
This is supposed to be funbut it’s not a smear campaign. We don’t judge private behavior that isn’t public. We don’t dig through personal lives. We simply highlight public egotism that’s out there for the world to see.
Our goal: Expose, entertain, and keep it real.
