Judd Apatow Will Keep It Coming!,

There is no question that Judd Apatow is hot right now, but now we can guarantee that he’ll remain front and center for years to come.
The filmmaker has just signed a big bucks deal with Universal to write and direct three films!
Universal Pictures chairman David Linde says that “it was a true mutual enthusiasm to really cement a relationship. Linde goes on to say that Apatow “has become a cornerstone for what this company prides itself on, which is excellence in comedies,” and that he is “one of the most responsible filmmakers that this company works with. He is always on budget, he is always on time.”
Apatow has directed three films for Universal: The 40-Year-Old-Virgin (2005), which grossed $177 million worldwide, Knocked Up (2007) which grossed a whopping $219 million worldwide, and the upcoming film Funny People, which expects a strong box office performance. He also produced Forgetting Sarah Marshall and is currently in production on Get Him To The Greek, both for Universal.
With the new contract, Apatow may produce projects elsewhere, but those penned and directed by him will be done at Universal. To date, he has produced six films for Columbia, including Year One, Pineapple Express, and Superbad.
Congrats, big guy!
